Flowers of Hell

If you’ve spent any time loving music, you’ve metaphorically seen the ‘flowers of Hell’: that old blues ideal that the pleasure of the listener is born from the misery and toil of the musician. Toronto-based guitarist and songwriter Greg Jarvis has timbre-to-shape synaesthetic visions, so he’s really seen something like those flowers emerging from his elaborate shoegazey/spacey/expansive orchestropop compositions. 30 musicians and joined Jarvis for The Flowers of Hell’s second album, Come Hell Or High Water, which has found fans as diverse as Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine and NASA’s mission control workers.
